Privacy Policy

At Coran AI, we take your privacy very seriously. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our platform.

It covers the website www.coran-ai.com and the Android application "Coran AI": the application displays that same website, so the processing described here is identical in both cases.

We collect the following information to run the service:

• Account information: name and email address. Your password is never stored in clear text; authentication is handled by Firebase (Google), or by Google if you sign in with a Google account.

• Usage data: conversations with the assistant, answers you report, bookmarks, collections, notes, memorization progress, reading position and settings.

• Reminders, only if you turn them on: the subscription provided by your browser, your language and your time zone offset.

• Technical data: IP address, browser type and device type (security and audience measurement).

Your data is used solely to:

• Provide and maintain the Coran AI service.

• Restore your reading position, your settings and your progress.

• Produce the assistant’s answers: your question and the text of the verses concerned are sent to OpenAI, the model provider, which does not use them to train its models.

• Improve the assistant: we review conversations with the name and email address removed, as well as the answers you report, together with the question that precedes them.

• Send you the emails and, if you turn them on, the reminders described in section 7, as well as information about your account or subscription.

Your data is hosted by Google Firebase and encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. The website is served by Vercel.

Payments are processed by Stripe: your card details never pass through our servers. We do not sell your data and do not share it with any advertising third party.

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Right of access: you can request a copy of your data.

• Right to rectification: you can correct your information from your settings.

• Right to erasure: you can delete your account and all of its data from your settings, without writing to us.

• After deletion, only a fingerprint (hash) of your email address - never the address itself - is kept with the day’s question counter, for at most 24 hours, so that the free quota cannot be recreated with a new account.

We use essential cookies for authentication and analytical cookies (optional) to understand site usage. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time in the settings.

After you create your account, we send you at most three emails during the first two weeks: a welcome message, an introduction to the “Understand this verse” feature and a reading reminder, in the language you signed up with.

After that, a summary is sent on Mondays if you have a streak in progress or at least two days of study: your streak, your memorized verses and the last milestone reached. Without activity, nothing is sent.

Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also turn these emails off at any time in your account preferences. They are sent through the provider Resend, which only receives your email address and the content of the message.

If you turn reminders on, you receive at most one a day, between 7 am and 10 pm in your time zone, and only when there is a reason: verses to review, a streak to keep going or today’s step of your khatma plan. The reminder is delivered by your browser’s notification service (for example Google for Chrome, Apple for Safari). You can turn reminders off at any time in your settings, which deletes the subscription, or in your browser.
